| Dengue cases drop The Department of Health in Negros Oriental reported that it has noted a 12 percent decline in the number of dengue cases in the province in the first quarter of this year, compared to the same period last year. Provincial DOH office records show a total of 113 dengue cases with no deaths from January 1 to March 17 this year, Disease Surveillance officer Pacholo Alcantara said. For the same period in 2010, 127 cases with one death were reported in the province, while there were 214 cases and no deaths recorded in 2009, or a drop of 89 percent compared to this year’s figures, he added. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
