illegal activities’
BY CARLA GOMEZ

President Benigno Aquino III is providing development assistance to the Rebolusyonaryong Partido ng Manggagawa-Pilipinas-Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade to get them to realize that by joining society and having more economic opportunities they are in fact achieving what they are fighting to achieve, Senator Sergio Osmeña III said yesterday.

The president is not providing funds for illegal activities, Osmeña said.

Protestors score RPA fund
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

Despite the tight security for President Benigno Aquino III’s visit in Bacolod City yesterday, some members of the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan-Negros were able to shout their opposition to the release of P31 million in development funds for the members of the Revolutionary Ploretarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade.

Aquino arrived at the Bacolod-Silay Airport at about 2:30 p.m. and was met by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon III, Police Regional office-6 Director Chief Supt. Cepriano Querol, and Provincial Police director Senior Supt. Allan Guisihan.

Policemen were also fielded in the street, but at least ten protestors at the Bacolod north terminal in Brgy. Bata were able to holler when the convoy passed. Whether he heard them or not, however, is not known.
