The Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc., a local NGO committed to the fight against poverty by enriching and empowering the lives of the marginalized poor, is holding its second 3-day-and-night, outdoor market – “Christmas at Dungganon Markert.”

The market will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on December 2 and 3, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 4 at 102 San Sebastian corner Verbena streets, Bacolod City, a press release from NWTF said.  

The market is a part of the group’s campaign to champion social enterprise – businesses that trade for a social or environmental purpose – in Negros and promote the products and produce of NWTF clients, it said.

TIEZA roadshow set

The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority or TIEZA (formerly the Philippine Tourism Authority) will hold a road show at the East View Hotel in Bacolod City on Friday.

Assistant TIEZA chief operating officer Joy Bulauitan will be among the resource speakers for the half-day activity on investment on tourism infrastructure and other tourist-related enterprises that will start at 1:30p.m.*CGS

Sustainable
agri-training held

Negros Occidental recently hosted a week-long training on sustainable agriculture in an agri-eco-tourism farm environment to help improve the food supply in the local markets.

Edna Garde, manager of the Farmers Information and Technology Services Center of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, yesterday said 30 farmers, agricultural extension workers, P4MP presidents from regions IV-A, V, VI, VII, and VIII  completed the training curriculum held in agricultural farms in Negros.

The training hopes not only to improve the agriculture sector, but to integrate tourism with agriculture. The participants visited the Integrated Correctional Agricultural and Technical Center and Organization for Industrial Spiritual and Cultural Advancement training center both in Bago City, she added.
