NWTF set to hold
Dungganon market

The Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation Inc., a local NGO committed to the fight against poverty by enriching and empowering the lives of the marginalized poor, is holding its second 3-day-and-night, outdoor market – “Christmas at Dungganon Markert.”

The market will be from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on December 2 and 3, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on December 4 at 102 San Sebastian corner Verbena streets, Bacolod City, a press release from NWTF said.

The market is a part of the group’s campaign to champion social enterprise – businesses that trade for a social or environmental purpose – in Negros and promote the products and produce of NWTF clients, it said.

Goods and produce from across Visayas and Palawan, including fresh fish, shellfish and crustaceans from nearby fishing communities, handmade bags, furniture, and jewelry will be sold, it said.

A gift wrapping and packaging seminar using indigenous materials presented by local artisan, Mari Stelle Estrella; free social entrepreneurship seminar open to all interested in learning more about social enterprise and its presence in Negros; and contributions from the 2011 ABS-CBN Pinoy Icon Awardee for the Arts Ilonggo artist, PG Zoluaga; and a performance by Side A bassist, composer and producer – Joey Benin, will also be held.

Those interested may visit www.nwtf.ph and www.facebook.com/nwtfi, or give call the NWTF Research Department at 034-432-3720, local 241 for more details, the press release said.*
