The Department of Agriculture is giving Negros Occidental P162 million, P19,962,148 million of which will be used to boost its promotion of organic agriculture, Provincial Agriculturist Igmedio Tabianan said yesterday.
The DA is also allocating P90 million for irrigation projects and P50 million for post harvest facilities, he added.
The Bureau of Soils has also allocated P2.6 million to the provincial government for irrigation in Negros Occidental, Tabianan said.
Meanwhile, Tabianan dismissed the anonymous complaints filed against him before the Governor’s Office as gossip.
It is malicious and personal harassment, he said, but added that he is open to any investigation in the proper forum.
Governor Alfredo Marañon on Monday said he could not act on unsigned complaints and urged the person behind them to come out and back his charges.
He also said he was satisfied with the work of Tabianan as provincial agriculturist.
Tabianan said he is thankful that the governor is satisfied and will work even harder to deliver the programs of the provincial government.
The anonymous complaints may be the work of someone who wants him removed from his post during the Capitol reorganization but he does not know who that person is, Tabianan said.
A reorganization of provincial government personnel is set to be conducted soon, the governor had said earlier.
Tabianan commended the persons who filed the complaints against him saying they should continue to be vigilant, not just against him, but to all to ensure good governance and transparency.*CPG
