Hooded gunman kills teen
BY ADRIAN NEMES III

A hooded man shot and killed a teenager in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, yesterday in what the police said was triggered by an old grudge.

The victim was identified as Jayson Decena, 19, of Purok Lawayan in Brgy. Bango by Station 3 chief, Insp. Jose Mulleta.

Investigation showed that Decena was having drinks near Decena’s residence with two women and two men at about 1:50 a.m. when the suspect and his companion arrived.

Witnesses said the hooded man shot Decena without provocation on the right side of his neck and immediately fled with his companion, Mulleta said.

Decena died while being rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital, he also said.

Mulleta added that they already have the name of the suspect and his whereabouts although he refused to give details in order not to hamper their ongoing manhunt operation.

Information received by the police showed that the suspect harbored anger against Decena and his group for allegedly attempting to shoot him several months ago.

Mulleta said they are tracing the whereabouts of the suspect and have gone to the areas where he could possibly hide.*APN
