The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority or TIEZA (formerly the Philippine Tourism Authority) held a roadshow yesterday in Bacolod City to encourage investments in the tourism industry through the establishment of Tourism Enterprise Zones in Bacolod and Negros Occidental.
Joy Bulaitan, Assistant TIEZA Chief Operating Officer and head of Tourism Enterprise Zone Sector, said they want to introduce new guidelines on the designation of TEZ’s and the administration of incentives under Republic Act 9593 or the Tourism Act of 2009.
Under this law, TIEZA will designate TEZ’s and they will grant incentives, both fiscal and non-fiscal, to investors especially in Bacolod City, she said.


Groups eye swiftlet
farming in Neg. Occ.
The United Architects of the Philippine-Mt. Kanla-on Chapter, in collaboration with a Malaysian Company, Laksana Unggul Sistem Sdn Bhd, will introduce a technology on swiftlet farming in Negros Occidental, a Capitol press release said.
A group led by Jorge Mission, UAP-Mt. Kanla-on Chapter president, and the Chief Executive Officer of the LUSSB, Harizan Haris, called on Provincial Administrator Enrique Pinongan at the Provincial Capitol recently to discuss on the initiatives of the group.
Laksana Unggul is an innovator and developer of the Swiftlet System Device and Technology on organic swiftlet farming, particularly in Malaysia, the press release said.



PESO to cite
recruitment firms
The Public Employment Service Office in Bacolod City will give recognition to local and overseas recruitment agencies that have provided jobs to Bacoleños and Negrenses.
Moises de la Cruz, PESO manager and executive assistant to the Mayor yesterday said three overseas recruitment agencies and two local agencies will receive awards from PESO.
The Pisces International Manpower Services, LEAD Resources Management Corp., and MMML Recruitment Services Inc. are the recipients for the overseas recruitment agencies.
