PESO to cite
recruitment firms

The Public Employment Service Office in Bacolod City will give recognition to local and overseas recruitment agencies that have provided jobs to Bacoleños and Negrenses.

Moises de la Cruz, PESO manager and executive assistant to the Mayor yesterday said three overseas recruitment agencies and two local agencies will receive awards from PESO.

The Pisces International Manpower Services, LEAD Resources Management Corp., and MMML Recruitment Services Inc. are the recipients for the overseas recruitment agencies.

The SM SuperMalls and Cliques Security Agency, meanwhile, are the recipients for the local agencies.

This is the first time that PESO is awarding recruitment agencies, de la Cruz said, adding that it is fair enough to recognize them after providing jobs and for trusting the skills and capabilities of the workers.

He also said this will encourage other recruitment agencies to conduct jobs fair in the city through PESO.

Recruitment agencies conducting jobs fair with PESO-Bacolod have to submit their approved job orders from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, he added.

He also said they will not tolerate illegal recruitment and warned illegal recruiters to stop their operations in Bacolod.

Meanwhile, PESO has already recorded more than 5,000 workers deployed locally and abroad.

De la Cruz said they also provided skills trainings on housekeeping, call center agents, and other skilled jobs that are in demand in the market today.*LTG
