Chamber fire brigade
gets KALASAG award

The Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade in Bacolod recently received the Gawad KALASAG from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council as Best Private Volunteer Organization.

The organization is recognized for its invaluable services, involvement in government efforts, and active participation in saving lives through search, rescue, and retrieval operations, a press release from the organization said.

The brigade is equipped for multi-hazard response and is supported by the Filipino Chinese Community.

The brigade also teems with volunteers with competent skills and active response to fire incidents and provide multi-hazard rescue services like vehicular extraction, flood, dental and medical missions, it added.

The award was given at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, during the 20th anniversary of the Local Government Code. *
