JSY Transport escapes
Organic in crucial game

JSY Transport stays alive for a semifinal slot after notching its first victory over Organic Solutions, 99-86, in Class B encounter of the Fil-Sino All Asian Countertrade 3rd Conference Inter-Color Basketball Tournament at Bacolod Tay Tung High School Po Hang Gym.

Luigi Coo showed the way for the Transport guys as he finished with 38 points, 16 each in the first and fourth quarter.

Dictating the tempo for JSY Transport in the opening salvo, Coo led his team to a 24-22 first quarter lead even as Arvin Chua and Jason Ong combined for 13 points for Organic.

Jaime Luis Sy, Joshua Chua and Eduardo Ng fired 9, 8 and 6 points, respectively, to extend the JSY lead to 51-41 at the break. Ton Ton Chua was the lone bright spot for Organic in the quarter with 8 points.

Joshua Chua and Coo accounted for five of the eight triples of Transport to keep Organic at bay for a 76-63 lead in the third quarter.

Coo’s output in the penultimate quarter was enough to counter Ton Ton Chua and Rey Jara’s 17 total points as Organic fell to its second straight loss after sweeping the first round with four straight wins.

Backstopping Coo were Joshua Chua with 24 points, Jerky Ong and Sy tallied 12 points each, and Ng with 9 points.

TonTon Chua had 20 points in a losing effort for Organic, Arvin Chua added 12, Jara shot 11, Ong with 10 points, Alex Chua and Celhelm Uy delivered 9 points each, and Wilson Dy scored 8 points.

Meanwhile, AACI Transport improved to 5-1 as it routed Royal Star Trading, 101-82, in Class A action.

Matthew Yap led the balanced Transport attack with 19 points, Rey Pandoro picked up 16, and Kenderson Hao dropped 15 points.

Royal Star, on the other hand, relied on their three-point gunners with Dr. Chico Coruña and Michael Ang  finishing with 16 points each, Marc Lo added 15, Alberto Dichavez shot  10, Romar Desusa contributed 9 points, Jolly Castillo and Frederick Ong had 8 points each.

In tonight’s schedule, Huminova Tigers will be staking its unbeaten record against winless AACI Trading in Class A while Basecom will try to keep its No. 1 position against dangerous Jast Enterprises in Class B.*NAB
