Frustrated murder charges are being readied against a man for allegedly stabbing his companion after a barangay dance in Pamplona, Negros Oriental, at about 3 a.m. Monday.
Police reports said the suspect, Eddie Quila, 35, and the victim, Anecito Ibias, 37, both single and residents of Barangay Magsusunog, Pamplona, had engaged in an argument before the stabbing incident.
Ibias was stabbed twice on his abdomen and was taken to the hospital while Quila fled.
He was, however, arrested a few hours after the incident and is now detained while charges are being readied against him.
Meanwhile, another suspected collector-usher of the illegal numbers game “swertres” was arrested in Amlan, Negros Oriental Monday.
