Private sector throws support
to golf development program

MANILA - The National Golf Association of the Philippines  has received a big shot in the arm as far as its golf development program is concerned with private sector support coming in and more pledges expected as it gears up for success in 2012 and beyond.

In a landmark move at Wack Wack Golf and Country Club, Michael Tan and Freddy Herrera of AirPhil and WW general manager Jeric Hechanova, representing WW president Philip Ella Juico, made official their full support to golf development.

Heading the NGAP officials are secretary-general Jun Arceo and Tommy Manotoc, chairman of youth/golf development, national training pool and tournaments, who initiated the Private Partnership Support (PPS) with the golf body.

“The NGAP is very thankful to these two entities for backing golf development in the country,” Manotoc said.

“We are hoping that others will eventually follow suit,” Arceo added.

Wack Wack is also throwing its full support to the NGAP youth development program, including providing a venue for members of the national pool for men, women and juniors’ boys and girls for their much-needed training.

AirPhil and Wack Wack thus join the International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) in the list of backers of the members of the national team and pool.*PNA
