Marañon waives tickets to
Azkals’ friendly game

Governor Alfredo Marañon wants the football match between the Philippine Azkals and the Ceres – Negros at the Panaad Stadium on September 13 open to the public and free of charge, Executive Assistant to the Governor for Sports Angel Verdeflor said yesterday.

He said they have to set aside their plans to charge P200, P100, and P50 for tickets to allow the public to watch the Azkals play for free.

While some of the Fil-foreign players will not be able to join the team in Bacolod City from September 8 to 15, Verdeflor said James and Phil Younghusbands will be part of the group.

4D cruises to twin wins in
USLS/LNA7 cagefest

Glenn Trabasas played the hero as 4D ’92-93 tamed the Glitters Production, 85-82, Friday night then pulled off an 80-72 victory against South Gate Inn the next day in the LNA7/USLS Alumni Inter-Barkada Basketball Tournament played at the West Negros University gym.

It was a come-from-behind win for 4D against the Glitters as they trailed most of the way until the fourth quarter.

Down by 12 points at 53-65 after the third quarter, Trabasas led the 4D run to cut the lead to 59-65 as Rico Loarca completed a 3-point play to further cut the deficit to three points.
