LCC holds
grand homecoming

buddai

The Grand Alumni Homecoming 2011 of La Consolacion College dubbed “Cirque en LCC” – was held Sunday at the LCC Grounds. It was the most well-attended class reunion, especially from Class 51 or the Diamond batch. This year many balikbayans were present and they jetted in from all over the world just to attend the big and colorful affair.

Dinner started at 7:30 and by dessert time, the program resumed to the beat of jazz, mambo, calypso, and rumba. All dance presentations by the different classes, even with short periods of practice, were well presented. The Diamond batch Class ‘51 danced and sang to the tune of “You make me feel so young,” and “Those were the days” with Loret Gonzaga and partners dancing, and Titong Henarez leading the batch in singing.

A special message was given by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, who was an LCC student from kindergarten to high school. All the nine Leonardia siblings are also graduates of LCC and are very thankful to be LCCians.

Congratulations to the LCC officers: president – Ma. Elena Gerasmo, vice president – Ardis Jaculina, second vice president – Marigold Chuatico, secretary – Elizabeth Benitez, treasurer – Lourdes Estacion, PRO – Christina Santillana and auditor – Cecile Tolosa.

It was a night to remember watching very enthusiastic and very cooperative alumni. What a blast!

Monday morning, through the invitation of ABS-CBN Corporation, we had lunch at L’Fisher Hotel to meet the lovely and intelligent candidates for the Search for MassKara Queen 2011 Pageant.

During the question-and-answer portion, the   candidates were asked what is the best spot in Bacolod City that they are proud of. The Government Center topped their list, then L’Fisher Chalet, and the San Sebastian Cathedral. It was nice meeting the candidates who are all intelligent and lovely.

Remember: God is so big He can cover the world with his love; so small he can curl up insider your heart; so wise He knows all your desires.*
