Two government hospitals in Negros Occidental are acquiring automatic fire protection systems costing P12,177,790, as approved yesterday at the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
The SP, on motion of Board Member Salvador Escalante III, and as endorsed by Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr., approved his request for contracts between the provincial government of Negros Occidental and the DK Jocson Construction, for the installation of fire protection systems at the Don Salvador Benedicto District Hospital in La Carlota City, and Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital in Kabankalan City.
This is in compliance with the national law, requiring the installation of sprinkler systems in buildings and structures, which took effect last year.
The amount of P6,315,150 was allocated for the Don Salvador Benedicto District Hospital, and P5,862,640 for the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital, for the installation of the fire protection system, SP records show.
The SP also set aside P1,704,435. 30 for the renovation of the Language and Information Technology Center in Bacolod City, to be constructed by the CELCOR Builders and Equipments, Inc.
The SP also granted Marañon authority to sign the contracts between the provincial government and Alfie's and ROGE Construction firms, for the construction of a 3-classroom school building in Calatrava and the renovation of the Ilog multi-purpose hall, respectively, for a total of P5,933,346.* GPB
