Technical Education Skills Development Authority of Negros Occidental is offering 400 slots in the Training for Work Scholarship Program for aspiring call center agents through the Star of Asia Human Resource Training and Development Inc.
Lorena Yunque, TESDA provincial director, said yesterday that the Call Center of the Philippines and the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines, through the Bacolod-Negros Occidental Federation for Information and Communication Technology, provided the scholarships for Negros Occidental.
The free training aims to strengthen the proficiency of Negrenses to adapt and cater to the manpower needs of business process outsourcing companies in Negros.
The Star of Asia is still accepting applicants for the free call center training and is open to applicants aged 18 to 55 years old, preferably those with college education.
College undergraduates and high school graduates are also welcome to apply at DOLL Building, 6th Street Lacson, Bacolod City. Free orientation is conducted every Wednesday and Friday.
Applicants may also contact TESDA office on the availability of the scholarship slots at 495-6622 and 712-7175.
Yunque said Star of Asia is a TESDA registered training center for the 100 hours finishing course for Call Center Agents NC II since 2007 and it was acknowledged by TESDA Provincial Office recently for having an employment rate of 71 percent surpassing the 70 percent employment rate requirement of TESDA and the Business Processing Association of the Philippines.*LTG
