The Philippine Airlines Employees Association is demanding  the prosecution of Pampangga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and the cleansing of all corrupt officials in the bureaucracy In the face of the ongoing impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona, , a press release from the group said yesterday.

PALEA president Gerry Rivera, said  “We want to believe that the prosecution of Arroyo and her minions is the start of fundamental reforms but without any signs of real changes then such is mere wishful thinking.”

Rivera also said they want to see the prosecution not just of Corona   but the removal of labor dealers in the Department of Labor and Employment and National Labor Relations Commission and the imprisonment of killers of labor leaders.

The group also demands to see a change in the labor policy of the government to protect regular jobs, to stop contractualization, to unfreeze wages, and to guarantee the freedom to organize and bargain.

Rivera added this will be their call in celebration of Labor Day. They will mobilize on Feb. 13 in Manila for the impeachment trial of Corona carrying the banner of “Justice for workers, Reforms beyond Gloria and Corona,” he said.*LTG
