win custody of his body

Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo’s partner, Grace Ibuna, and his daughter, Bernardina Arroyo-Tantoco, have been granted joint custody of his remains by the Royal Court of Justice in London, their solicitor disclosed.

As of yesterday no date had been set yet for the return of hisremains to the Philippinesafter Justice Peter Smith ruled in favor of Ibuna and Tantoco, but his family and friends hope it will be soon.

Ibuna told the DAILY STAR she is winding up details with her solicitor and barrister on the return ofArroyo’sremains to the country.moremoremore

Alleged New People’s Army regional commander Romeo Nanta is a free man, at least for now.

This was after San Carlos Regional Trial Court Judge Kathrine Go granted his motion for bail on robbery-in-band charges, and recommended P100,000 for his temporary liberty, Supt. Arnel Arpon, Cadiz police chief, said.

Arpon, who led a joint team of military and police personnel in arresting Nanta November last year in Cadiz City, said Nanta paid a cash bond of P100,000.

‘Buhawi’ hits 21 houses
in Kabankalan

A whirlwind (buhawi) damaged 21 houses in a remote barangay of Kabankalan City Monday afternoon, Kabankalan City Mayor Isidro Zayco said yesterday.

The whirlwind hit Barangay Bantayan, 55 kilometers from the city proper, at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, Zayco said.

Zayco who visited the site hit yesterday morning said roofs of houses made of light materials were blown off, while some pigpens were destroyed.moremoremore
