BY JUDY F. PARTLOW

A man was killed and three others were injured when a wayward passenger bus rammed into a motorcycle and a tricycle early this week, at the national highway of Tanjay City, Negros Oriental.

Police identified the fatality as Marcelino Soreño, of Barangay Luka in Tanjay City, and those injured as Roderick Repollo, a tricycle driver, and his passengers, Lalaine Sayco and Nanette Sabillo.

Police investigation showed that the Land Master mini-bus driven by Arnold Calda, 34, married, of Barangay Igbalanac, Pamplona, was east bound when it lost its brakes and collided with the motorcycle and tricycle.

The victims were brought to the Tanjay City Urgent Care Clinic but were later transferred to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital in Dumaguete City, where the motorcycle driver, Soreño, allegedly died later, the police report said.

The driver of the bus, Arnold Calda, voluntarily surrendered to the police.*JFP
