Twenty-five young workers from Negros Occidental will undergo intensive skills training for three years in Japan under the POEA-JITCO Technical Internship Training Program, a press release from the Capitol said. 

The project is  being implemented by the Confederal Project Manpower Agency  Inc., a POEA licensed placement agency, managed by  Alan  Nuega.

The 14th batch of workers will be trained in highly skilled welding and painting works at Hiroshima Marine World, a shipbuilding company in Hiroshima, Japan.

Each intern will receive a basic monthly income of 133, 500 yen, or approximately P71,000 during the training period. 

These workers have  passed the TESDA skills assessment test for NC Level 1 for FCAW and construction painting, which is a requirement of the program, the press release said.

The group paid a courtesy call on  Gov. Alfredo Marañon, Jr., yesterday and  thanked him for his support to the program, the press release said.*
