The policeman suspected of supplying illegal drugs at the Goldefield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City surfaced yesterday and challenged those accusing him to produce evidence to prove their claims.
Police Officer 1 Oliver Ong of Police Station 7 said the allegations against him are not true and those saying that should stop peddling lies against him because this has affected his family.
Ong said his focus is on his work and family and it is impossible for him to be involved in the illegal drug trade.
Bacolod City Police Director Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz on Wednesday ordered the City Police’s Intelligence Branch headed by Senior Insp. Jose Mulleta to investigate the allegations against Ong.
De la Paz said, so far, they have not gathered evidences against Ong and there are no witnesses confirming that he is indeed into the illegal drug trade.
However, de la Paz said, they will continue to monitor him.
On Thursday, Ong was accompanied by his station commander, Chief Insp. Levy Pangue, to the crime laboratory in Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office, where he went through a drug test.
The result released yesterday showed Ong negative of shabu and marijuana use.
Ong said the reason yesterday why he left Station 7 Monday while there was a mandatory drug test being conducted was that he left to attend to his wife who is 8-months pregnant and was not feeling well.
Ong also denied that the reason why he did not submit himself to the drug test was that he was afraid.*APN back
