Truck catches fire
BY LISA GAPAC

A truck loaded with sugarcane heading north caught fire at about 1:35 p.m. at the highway of Brgy. Cabahug, Cadiz City.

Farmer Enrico Fulleja, 54, said they were working at a nearby farm when they saw black smoke, and initially thought that was a fire in a plantation.

When he and his co-workers investigated, they saw the burning truck at the side of the road, but no one was inside as its driver immediately went to ask for help, he said.

He said he believed faulty wirings, or an overheated engine may have caused the fire.

The Cadiz City Fire Station responded and immediately put out the fire. Investigation was still ongoing up to press time.*LTG
