USLS renews partnership
with South Korea school

The academic exchange agreement between the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City and Silla University in Busan, South Korea, was renewed with the signing of a memorandum of agreement led by USLS president Ray Suplido and Silla University president Tae Hak Park at the USLS Board Room Monday, a press release from the USLS said.

The MOA states that both universities agreed to facilitate academic exchange among students, faculty members and research scholars, and joint research programs and exchange of research materials, academic publications and other information, the press release also said.

Witnessing the signing were vice director for International Affairs Kyungsik Choi, University Foundation executive director Park Eon Pyo, and program coordinator Jaewon Choi, all of Silla; and vice chancellor for Mission and Development Geoffrey Bob Bergante, vice chancellor for Finance Jocelyn Aragon, assistant vice chancellor for Academic Affairs Annabelle Balor, and Center for External Relations director Rhoderick Samonte, of USLS, the press release added.*

Earth Day painting contests
ongoing in 3 Neg. Occ. cities

In line with the Earth Day 2013 observance on April 22 with the theme “Climate Change in the Eyes of a Child,” on-the-spot painting competitions are being held by Greenwatch Philippines Inc. in Negros Occidental, ,a press release from organizers said.

The Negros Occidental Junior Green Artists painting contest, held in La Carlota City yesterday, and in the cities of Himamaylan and Kabankalan today and tomorrow, is in cooperation with local government and school officials, the business sector, and the Kabankalan City Lions Club.

The pieces will be exhibited at the SM mall in Bacolod City April 20-22, with the overall winners to be announced at the closing rites of the Earth Day program, the press release added.*
