10 ‘shabu' sachets found
in a vacant lot in Bacolod Ten sachets of suspected shabu were recovered by Station 4 policemen from a vacant lot in Brgy. 41, Bacolod City, at about 2:30 p.m. yesterday.
Chief Insp. Adonis Rosales, Station 4 commander, said the policemen were on their way to check on a report about a maltreatment of a minor by her mother in Purok 8, Brgy. 41, when they passed the vacant lot and heard voices from the grassy area and when they checked it, they saw a man fleeing. Another man and a woman were at a make-shift shanty but they were not arrested since nothing was recovered from them, he said.
Rosales said the policemen chased the fleeing man but failed to arrest him, and after they scoured the area, they found an eyeglass case that contained the sachets of shabu, and recovered P2,010 in cash.
The policemen went on with the investigation of the alleged maltreatment of a minor, that was later found to be a hoax.
Meanwhile, a suspected drug peddler was apprehended by members of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group in a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Handumanan, Bacolod City, at about 12:45 p.m. yesterday.
CAIDSTOG head, Senior Insp. Neil Exaltado, identified the one arrested as Rolando Cuenca Jr., “alias Jun-Jun”, 37, of Purok Santo Domingo, Brgy. Handumanan.
Cuenca was apprehended after he handed an elongated sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur-buyer, in exchange for P300, Exaltado said.
Another elongated sachet of suspected shabu, a pair of scissors, five disposable lighters, a bamboo clip, and a pouch, that contained several sheets of aluminum foil, and an improvised tooter were also recovered from Cuenca, Exaltado also said.
Charges for illegal drug sale will be filed against Cuenca, who is now detained at the Bacolod City Police Office.*APN
