Bacolod boys gear up for
nat'l Jr. NBA camp

Bacoleños Jan Gabriel Sobrevega and Jose Antiporda from the University of St. La Salle are joining the elite list of young basketeers from the country who qualified for the national Jr. NBA training camp set on April 26 and 27 at the UP Diliman Gym and at the SM Mall of Asia on April 28.

Both players will pit skills against their contemporaries from different regions in the country, who are top picks from the regional selection camps and the Alaska Power Camp.

Sobrevega and Antiporda will vie for a slot in this year's Jr. NBA Philippines All Star Team, who will be rewarded with a trip abroad for an authentic NBA experience and the chance to play with a counterpart youth team abroad.

Donaire, Rigondeaux
return bout sought

Boxing fans are demanding a rematch between Nonito ‘Filipino Flash' Donaire and Guillermo Rigondeaux

Rigondeaux won the unified title-fight via a controversial unanimous decision Sunday at the Radio City Music Hall in New York City .

For Raides Neri, assistant trainer of 8th time division world champion Manny Pacquiao, Donaire's fight was good but he lacked pressure to deliver his punches.

Foodman squeaks past JKT
to rule 13th TKP cage tourney

Foodman squeaked past Johann Kendrick Tan 96-95 to capture the Class B title of the 13th Tan Kek Pin Memorial Basketball Cup played last Friday at TTHS Po Hang Gym.

Peter Galon engineered the Foodman comeback and scored the last 9 pts. for Foodman to snatch the championship. The double digit rebounding advantage of Foodman in the 4th quarter was the key to its victory as it gave them more 2nd chance offensive opportunities.

JKT was ahead 80-72 going to the 4th quarter, but Galon and Popoy Chua opened the quarter with an 8-1 run to cut the deficit to a single point.
