Eucharistic celebration set
to remember Br. Roly Dizon
The first death anniversary of Br. Rolando “Roly” Dizon will be remembered through a Eucharistic Celebration on April 25, 4 p.m., at the C.L. Montelibano Chapel, La Salle Avenue in Bacolod City, a press release from the University of St. La Salle said.
The Dizon family, De La Salle Brothers, the USLS community, loved ones and friends will gather in memory of Br. Roly, founding university president, from 1986-1998, who also served as president of De La Salle University (1998-2003) and chairman of the Commission on Higher Education from March 2003 to September 2004, the press release also said.
The university honors Br. Roly Dizon as an icon of “excellence with a soul, competence with compassion”, the press release said.
Born on October 31, 1944, Dizon was former president of the Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports, Cultural and Educational Association, and an alumnus of the Catholic University of America and of Stanford University.
He succumbed to cancer of the colon that he battled for about 10 years, the press release added.*
