3 fishing boats seized

Three small fishing boats were seized by the Bantay Dagat Task Force at the shores of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental, at about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday when their occupants violated the town's ordinance on illegal fishing.

Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office records show that the Bantay Dagat Task Force members were on a seaborne operation when they spotted MB Haneke, MB Gelo and MB St. Christopher conducting illegal fishing in the area.

The boats and their fishing gear were confiscated, but the captains and six crew members were not detained, the police said.
