Comelec conducts inspections
BY CARLA GOMEZ

Ocular inspections on the preparations for the May 13 polls in Negros Occidental were conducted by Comelec Western Visayas director Renato Magbutay Wednesday and yesterday, Provincial Elections Supervisor Wil Arceño said.

Magbutay and Arceno visited polling areas in southern Negros on Wednesday and those in the north yesterday.

Among the matters they checked were the availability of electricity and internet connectivity, Arceño said.

Internet connectivity problems were noted in some areas in Calatrava and Candoni, he added.

Arceño said he will meet with police officials today to be briefed on the progress of their investigations on the killings in Escalante and the M-203 grenade launcher firing at the residential compound of Manapla Mayor Lourdes Escalante.*CPG
