Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia has requested the Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod for authority to sign a memorandum of agreement with SM Cinema Bacolod, that will grant free movie privilege to all qualified senior citizens of Bacolod City.
The ordinance granting free movie privilege to all qualified senior citizens of the city, was authored by Councilor Carlos Jose Lopez.
The proposed MOA will be entered into and between Manny Kho, representing SM Cinema Bacolod, and Leonardia, representing the City of Bacolod.
Under the MOA, all senior citizens (60 years old and above), who are bona fide residents of Bacolod City, can avail of the privilege.
It states that in order to avail of this privilege, senior citizens should present an identification card signed by authorized signatories and free movie booklet issued by the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs Bacolod City (OSCA), to SM Cinema Bacolod ticket sellers before admission.
It said the free viewing dates will be every Tuesday only, provided such date does not fall on a regular, special, non-working or working holiday.
Senior citizens of Bacolod City are entitled to free admission only on the first two screenings of a movie, and limited to one film/movie during Tuesday, it said.
It said that free admission is not valid for digital 3D movies and that SM Cinema Bacolod will accommodate a maximum of 100 senior citizens per day only, on a first come-first served basis.*CGS
