The Bacolod Baywalk Restaurant and Entertainment Place at the Reclamation Area in Bacolod City was afforded due process before it was closed Monday for the deficiency of its business permit, Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia said in a radio interview yesterday.
Leonardia said the decision to close the establishment was made after a series of meetings, discussions and investigation made by the City Government. “It does not mean that the decision was automatic,” he said.
The Bacolod City Legal Office implemented the closure of Baywalk Restaurant and Entertainment Place yesterday morning and it cannot operate until it has completely complied with all legal requisites for its operation.

‘Neg. Occ. now No. 4 in
dairy production’
Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. said in a press release yesterday that Negros Occidental province is now No. 4 in dairy production in the country.
Marañon said the gains in the local dairy industry, particularly in La Carlota City, are among the achievements of his Negros First program and leadership, that has engaged in cattle and livestock dispersal programs.
Through the dairy production, there has been a reduction in malnutrition, of grade school pupils who were given milk in feeding programs showing weight increases a week or two. The milk came from the local dairy industry, Marañon said.
