Bracket B winner Class '73 beat Bracket A champion Class '75 to win the championship of the 45 th Domingo Lacson National High School Inter-alumni General Homecoming Bowling Tournament at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.
Class '73 defeated Class '75 in the battle of champions, 531-529.
The members of the winning team were Herbert Pediongco, Marianito Superiano, Sammy Simple, Bobbie de la Cruz, Art Villanueva, Garth Gelanga and Marlyn Banaglorioso.
Class '77 was runner-up after losing to Class '75 in the final match up in Category A.
Second to fourth runners-up were Class ‘71, Cluster Team and Class '78.
Batch '73 won the championship in Bracket B over Class '84 in the final showdown.
Runners-up in the same category were Class '88, second; Class '92, third; Class '80, fourth, and Class '89, fifth.
Awarding of prizes to the winners will be held tomorrow at the DLNHS auditorium when the school celebrates its general alumni homecoming.
Meanwhile, the championship of the 24 th Knights of Columbus Annual Inter-council Bowling Tournament will also be held tomorrow at the New Top's Millennium Plaza Alley in Bacolod City .
Topping the elimination phase were Bishop Manuel Yap Council 5665 “Team Grand Knight”, and Villamonte Council 5665 “Team Trustee.”
Teams that will figure in an up-the-ladder system for the championship against Team Grand Knights in the premiere department are Council 5665 Team Deputy; Our Lady of Candles 13715 Team Unity; Candles 13715 Charity; Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Parish 13155, and San Juan Nepomuceno Sum-ag 12055.
To battle for the right to challenge Team Trustee for the title are Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish 11579; Our Lady of Candles 13715 Patriotism Team; Our Lady of Victory Parish Victorias City 5215; Holy Family Council 14119 Handumanan and St. Anthony Abbot Council 5684.
It will be Candles Unity against Sum-ag in the opening match in bracket A, and Candles Patriotism vs. Abbot in category B.
Tournament's top 10 bowlers were Victorio Gatila (Unity); Precy Pillo (Deputy); Irne Diaz (Deputy); Matt Gaudite (Sum-ag); Rey Bello (Charity); Ceasar Sumaylo (Mansilingan); Allan Baer (Unity); Elmer Liboon (GK); Rey Boy (Charity), Felipe Boy Romero Jr. (Mansilingan).
Record holders were Sylvia Del Rosario in highest pinning with 94 points, Rey Bello in single with 180, and Romulo Ramos in triple with 402.*HLG
