Coconut farmers trained

About 30 coconut farmers completed the two-day training on the uses of coconut aimed at increasing jobs and incomes, at the coconut farm lot in Purok Katilingban, Barangay Punta Taytay, recently.

Mike Baylon, chapter president of the federation of Free Framers Negros Occidental, Nap Iledan, treasurer, and Michael Baylon, technician, served as resource speakers, a press release from organizers said.

Topics included coconut farmers' unity; values formation; importance and rights of farmers, uses of coconuts to increase jobs and incomes, and Organic Foliar Fertilizer preparation, among others, the press release said.

The training was conducted in partnership with FFF National Office headed by former agriculture secretary Leonardo Montemayor, it also said.*
