The medical mission of the Leisure and Resorts World Corp. and the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation, in cooperation with the office of Rep. Alfredo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District), called ‘Ang Bulig sa mga Ilonggo, conducted its last activity for the year at the upland barangay of Consing in E.B. Magalona, recently.
Free consultation and medicines were availed of by 278 residents and 50 of the dental extraction services from the team led by EB Magalona health officer Dr. Edmund Janeo Jr., volunteer doctors of the Kaayong Lawas Foundation Dr. Napoleon Amadeo and Dr. Jun Alibasa, and volunteer dentist Dr. Margarita Aparra, a press release from the office of Benitez said.
The free clinic was held at the Barangay Consing Elementary School, it added.
Seven hinterland barangays of the third district were this year’s beneficiaries of the annual LRWC corporate social responsibility program that is also conducted in many other parts of the country, the press release said.
These are Barangays Canlandog and Buenavista of Murcia; Barangays Patag and Guimbalaon in Silay; Barangay Dos Hermanas of Talisay and Barangays Isidro and Consing of E. B. Magalona.
The press release also said that about 937 residents have been served in these communities.
Benitez said that since the start of his first term in 2010, the medical missions have been conducted in coordination with multi-sectoral organizations, local government units and government agencies and has reached about 30,000 families in depressed coastal and upland barangays, the press release added.* back
