bash for Tia Meding

What a spectacular celebration it was for the 92nd birthday of matriarch Remedios “Tia Meding” Orola recently. Imagine, having your entire family, friends and even the candidates for Miss Earth 2013 as guests! The grand ballroom of Planta Hotel was filled to overflowing with well-wishers, some came in Caribbean costumes, to celebrate Tia Meding’s natal day.

Suddenly, a resounding fanfare announced the dramatic entrance of the Orola family. First to enter were the honor guards of the Visayan Maritime Academy, followed by the children and grandchildren. Then, the crowd burst into rapturous applause as the celebrator made her entrance, escorted by former Bacolod Rep. John Orola. The ladies raved over the very feminine gown of Tia Meding, who looked ‘younger than springtime’ in her attire. A prayer of thanks was led by a member of the family.

Dinner was an excellently-prepared feast of popular Filipino party fare that everyone enjoyed to the max. The entertainment portion opened with a grand waltz which had the celebrator dancing with the male members of the family. Additional entertainment was provided by the VMA Global College Performing Arts, who did a smashing Broadway dance number. A surprise of the evening was the rousing performance of Bobby Valle, a popular Filipino entertainer in Osaka, Japan. Other family members performed song and dance numbers for their beloved Mama.

Later that evening, the candidates for Miss Earth 2013 arrived to greet the celebrator as everyone craned their necks to see the beautiful, tall and sexy beauties. What a fantastic party it was!
