Medical mission conducted

About 500 Valencianons trooped to the town plaza to avail of free medical treatment in the mission held by the Foundation University Alumni Association Inc. and the Philippine Army’s 302nd Brigade recently, a press release from the school said.

Valencia Mayor Edgar Teves welcomed the volunteer doctors, nurses and FUAA officers and members, and declared his strong support for the activity, being an alumnus of the school.

Doctors from the Philippine Army, and the Valencia Health Office attended to the medical and dental needs of Valencianons, with some patients brought to the site from distant barangays by the Energy Development Corporation, that provided medicines to the patients, the press release also said.

FU alumni director Maybelle Cabcaban met with the alumni living in Valencia and invited them to the homecoming. FUAAI president Charlotte Cariño said she was happy that the activity was successful through the support of alumni and friends.

Cariño also said a similar medical mission will be held in another town in Negros Oriental next year, the press release added.*
