Rommel Hulleza topped the 10-kilometer event while Reymark Dimeren ruled the 3-kilometer category as runners from Himamaylan City registered another impressive performance in the Bureau of Fire Protection Fun Run held Sunday in Bacolod City.
The fun run held in partnership with the ABS-CBN Bacolod, was part of the BFP celebration on its 40th year in service.
Hulleza’s latest conquest in the 10-kilomenter event adds to his personal collection of gold medals in long distance races, while Demerin recently bagged the silver medal in the secondary boys’ 1,500-meter run of the 2013 Negros Occidental Provincial Meet held at the Panaad Park and Stadium.
Also getting her share of the limelight in local run events is Hulleza’s younger sister, Jeraldine, who gave Area V (Hinigaran, Himamaylan, Isabela and Moises Padilla) a silver medal in secondary girls’ 3,000-meter run at the Provincial Meet.
Demerin and the Hulleza siblings, along with several runners from Himamaylan City who competed in the BFP-ABS CBN Fun Run were supported by Dodong Bascon, father of Himamaylan Mayor Agustin Ernesto Bascon.*NAB
