Seven newly elected and re-elected barangay captains of Bacolod City filed their certificates of candidacy yesterday for the December 18 Liga nga mga Barangay elections, Liga president and Bacolod Councilor Mona Dia Jardin said yesterday.

Tangub Barangay Captain Noli Villarosa filed his COC for president, Brgy. 37 Barangay Captain Hernani Jalando-on for auditor, and Barangay Captains Jonathan Diaz, Myrna Obligar, Charlie Chavez, Richard Barber and Friday Solinap of Barangays 18, 27, 22, 2 and Villamonte, respectively, for Directors.

Jardin said she will conduct the Liga elections tomorrow at 9 a.m. at the Masskara Hall of the Bacolod City Government Center, as Liga president.

She is also the head of the credentials committee, while Barangay Captain Mylene Dewara of Brgy. 8 heads the nominations committee, Barangay Captain Jocelyn Uychiat of Brgy. 19 – election committee, and Singcang Barangay Captain Rosinie Distrito – canvassing committee.

Jardin said they will accept COC’s until 5 p.m. today.*
