House looted of P245,000
worth of watches, jewelry A house at the Eroreco Subdivision in Brgy. Mandalagan, Bacolod City, was ransacked and looted of P245,000 worth of watches, jewelry and a cellular phone, at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Senior Insp. Edgar Gulmatico, Station 3 chief, yesterday said they received a telephone call from Marilou Remo, 49, of Santa Felomina Street, who said her house had been burglarized.
Investigation showed that the suspects scaled the main gate, destroyed the door knob of the house, and took away a Rolex watch worth about P150,000, a Timex wristwatch valued at P8,000, Tommy Hilfiger watch worth P5,000, a Seiko watch worth P6,000, a Swiss Army wristwatch valued at P10,000, Cartier wristwatch worth P10,000, Nokia phone valued at a P6,000 and various jewelry worth P50,000.
Meanwhile, More Mullner, 21, of Brgy. Villamonte in Bacolod was nabbed by virtue of an arrest warrant for robbery charges, at Burgos-Lopez Jaena streets in the barangay, at about 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Franklin Demonteverde, who set his bail at P24,000, police records show.*SGG

Lending company
collector robbed
A lending firm collector reported to the police that he was robbed of cash and his motorcycle Monday in Sitio Bagol. Brgy. Rizal, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
The victim, identified as Albert Pingkian, 21, collector of the Jol Star Lender Corp., claimed that he was divested of P16,840 in cash collection by a suspect, who also took his black XRM motorcycle with engine number XRM165271948 and chassis number XRM16771931.
The Silay police said the victim described the suspect as wearing a white T-shirt, a pair of long pants and was carrying a backpack.
The next day, policemen intercepted a certain Clement Sapitanan at the national highway of Brgy. Tortosa in Manapla, for driving a stolen motorcycle.
Senior Inspector Edencio Gregorio, Manapla police chief, said Sapitanan admitted that he took the blue XRM Honda 125 motorcycle owned by a certain Mollie Duenas at the Central Market area in Bacolod City.
Sapitanan, a resident of Boulevard in Brgy. Banago, Bacolod City, is now detained at the Manapla police jail.*GPB

4 fishermen nabbed Four fishermen were caught illegally fishing in Brgy. Banago in Bacolod City, at about 10:15 a.m. yesterday.
Senior Police Officer 4 Rolando Arcenas, officer-in-charge of the 603 rd Maritime Police Station, identified those arrested as Reynaldo Pescadero, Helquias Ponclara, both of Talisay City, Luis and Sau, both surnamed Esmayan, all of Hinigaran town, Negros Occidental.
The Special Reaction Team, Regional Maritime Unit-6 and 603 rd Maritime Police conducted seaborne operation some 6.5-kilometer away from the shoreline of Bacolod and apprehended the fishermen for allegedly fishing without permits from the city government, Arcenas said.
About P15,000 worth of fishing gear was recovered from Pescadero and Ponclara, who were on a motorboat owned by Dedan Corneza of Talisay. Seized from the Esmayans on a motorboat owned by Carmelita Davela of Brgy. Sum-ag in Bacolod, were about P15,000 in fish catch, maritime records show.
Those caught were not detained since they paid the P2,000 fine per boat at the City Treasurer's Office, as penalty for violation of Section 23 of Bacolod City Ordinance number 264, series of 2000, he said.*SGG
