A member of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative Board of Directors, Arnel Lapore of District II representing Bacolod South, was re-elected as president during their election held last week, its general manager, Sulpicio Lagarde Jr., said yesterday.
Lagarde said directors Michael Maravilla of District IX representing Silay City, Cesar Leonardia of District V representing Bacolod West, Paul Lizares of District VIII representing Talisay City, were also re-elected as board vice president, treasurer and secretary, respectively.
This is the second term of Lapore as president having been elected to the position in 2011, replacing Edward Gasambelo.
Also members of the CENECO board are Joyce Martha Cuenca of District I representing Bacolod North, Robert Javellana of District VI representing Bago City, Zenaida Lacson of District III representing Bacolod Central, Roy Cordova of District IV representing Bacolod East, and Roberto Montelibano of District VII representing Murcia and Don Salvador Benedicto.
Lapore said he will propose a Capital Expenditure program without power rate increases before his term ends in three years.
CENECO filed the application with the Energy Regulatory Commission in January last year for the approval of its CAPEX program with a project cost of P670.9 million, but it was opposed by the city government of Bacolod.
Lapore also vowed to upgrade the services and efficiency of the electric firm to conform with those of the International Organization for Standardization .*APN
