Negros Occidental manager Procopio Trabajo of the National Food Authority III yesterday reminded grain retailers and wholesalers seven local government units to renew their licenses this month.
LGUs included are Bago City, Hinigaran, San Enrique, Pontevedra, and Pulupandan, Trabajo said.
He also said they scheduled the renewal of NFA licenses to regulate payments and for retailers and wholesalers to avoid penalties.
NFA collected P890,380 for the renewal of licenses last month, he said.
Melvyn Redil, senior grains operation officer, had earlier said, that NFA licenses vary depending on the capitalization of the wholesalers and retailers.
In Negros Occidental wholesalers pay P5,500 as license fee as their capital ranges from P250,000 to P500,000.
Retailers, on the other hand, pay P660 for their licenses as their capital ranges from P50,000 to P100,000, she added. *LTG
