De Oro wins second Seventeen-year-old Maika De Oro transitioned smoothly from a Palarong Pambansa golden girl to a collegiate queen of throwing events as she a new record in women’s discus throw of the 2013 National PRISAA at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center in Lingayen, Pangasinan, yesterday. The sophomore Police Science student from University of St. La Salle hurled the iron disc to a distance of 39.30 meters to erase the 32.49-meter mark postd by April Rose Guiang of Southern Mindanao in Cebu City last year.
