Philippine ring icon and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao and Senator Franklin Drilon became ninongs (godfathers) to 2,013 couples Saturday afternoon at an event dubbed the biggest mass wedding in Philippine history.

“Marriage is a lifetime commitment, it has no expiration date,” Pacquiao told his 4,026 godchildren gathered at the grounds of the Bacolod City Government Center for the mass wedding officiated by Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia.

The boxing icon told the couples whose ages ranged from 18 to 82, that marriage is no joke, one has to work on it, and that patience is important.moremoremore

Team PNoy campaign manager Senator Franklin Drilon and boxing icon Manny Pacquiao Saturday publicly endorsed the bids of Mayor Evelio Leonardia for congressman and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson for mayor of Bacolod in the May polls.

Drilon and Pacquiao stood as godparents at the mass wedding of 2,013 couples at the Bacolod Government Center Saturday afternoon, that was solemnized by Leonardia.

Pacquiao said he is throwing his all-out support behind Leonardia, who has been his long-time close friend and kumpare, and his entire slate.moremoremore

The senatorial candidates of Team PNoy are arriving in Negros Occidental Friday and are set to hold a rally in Bacolod City, their campaign manager, Senator Franklin Drilon, said Saturday.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia will receive the Team PNoy and has agreed that we hold a rally in Bacolod City, Drilon said.

The Nationalist People’s Coalition, of which Leonardia is a member, is our coalition partner, Drilon pointed out.moremoremore
