Alvarez, Leonardia official
bets of coalition -- Drilon
BY CARLA GOMEZ
Vice Gov. Genaro Alvarez Jr. and former San Carlos City Mayor Eugenio Lacson are the official candidates of the Nationalist People’s Coalition-Liberal Party coalition for governor and vice governor of Negros Occidental, respectively, Senator Franklin Drilon, LP vice chairman and Team PNoy campaign manager, declared yesterday.
The coalition’s official candidates in Bacolod City are Mayor Evelio Leonardia for congressman, Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson for mayor and former councilor Greg Gasataya for vice mayor, he said. All three are members of the NPC.
In so far as the Bacolod candidates for councilors are concerned, “It will be a free zone, we will have Liberal and NPC. That’s the set-up that we will have,” he said, after discussing the matter with LP Negros chairman, Rep. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez (Neg. Occ., 3rd District). |

Only Nationalist People’s Coalition candidates Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson and Greg Gasataya were on the stage with the Team PNoy during its grand rally at the Bacolod City Public Plaza last night.
Team PNoy campaign manager Senator Franklin Drilon reiterated his endorsement of Leonardia, Sayson and Gasataya for congressman, mayor and vice mayor, respectively, of the Liberal Party, Nationalista Party and NPC coalition.
Leonardia, on the other hand, thanked Drilon over and over again after the latter reiterated his endorsement during the rally at the plaza. |
35,000 join five
Team PNoy rallies
BY CARLA GOMEZ
About 35,000 cheering Negrenses joined the Team PNoy senatorial candidates in lightning rallies in northern Negros Occidental and in Bacolod City yesterday.
Senator Franklin Drilon, Team PNoy campaign manager, urged Negrenses to help ensure a 12-0 win for the Team PNoy senatorial candidates so President Benigno Aquino can continue to push his reforms in the last three years of his administration, unhampered.
The President enjoys a big mass base support in Negros and many of his programs have benefitted the people of the province, Drilon said, citing the conditional cash transfer and PhilHealth drives for the poor. |
