The Land Bank of the Philippines-Bacolod granted a loan of P1,342,800 to the Association of San German Agrarian Reform Community of Brgy. Guimbalaon, Silay City, yesterday through the Agrarian Production Credit Program of the Department of Agrarian Reform.
Teodoro Che Salido, section chief of Sustainable Agri-based Rural Enterprise Development of DAR-North Negros Occidental, said the loan aims to help agrarian reform beneficiaries as production capital.
Salido said the APCP was created to prevent ARBs from leasing and selling their rights to private landowners. A lot of cases have been noted where ARBs lease their lands because they do not have production capital.
