A glamorous
70th birthday bash

Balikbayan Josephine Piansay, a Bacoleña who has been residing in the USA for years, came home recently to celebrate her 70th birthday with her family and friends.

The grand ballroom of Business Inn Bacolod was booked for the entire evening with guests requested to be in formal attire. Everyone raved over how young and radiant Jo looked in her sophisticated black evening gown, highlighted by glittering blings that sparkled like stars every time the light hit them. Equally dashing was her husband, Jun, in his tuxedo as he escorted Jo around the ballroom. Her fellow teachers from way back exclaimed that Jo certainly looked 20 years younger than her age.

A highly entertaining dance number was performed by Jo’s schoolmates to the delight of the crowd. A crowd pleaser was a precocious little girl who sang “Tomorrow” with such gusto that she simply wowed the audience.

The guests enjoyed the excellent dinner menu especially prepared for the occasion. Another enjoyable portion of the evening’s program was the “Guessing Game” that gave away five dollar bills for every correct answer. A sample of the questions asked was, “What was Josephine’s course in college?” The first one who answered “BS Education”, received a crispy five dollar bill right away. A lot of people in the audience went home richer by five dollars that night.

At the end of the program, everyone was invited to dance to the swinging music and they certainly needed no second invitation as the floor was soon filled with dance partners who danced the night away.
