It will be a one-on-one battle for the mayoralty post between Bacolod Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson and former Bacolod Rep. Monico Puentevella with the Law Department of the Commission on Elections Manila having accepted the affidavit of withdrawal of Julius Sayson.

In its letter dated Dec. 26, 2012, the Law Department informed Julius Sayson, a mayoralty candidate in Bacolod City, that it has accepted his affidavit of withdrawal, Bacolod Election Officer Mavil Majarucon-Sia said yesterday.

Majarucon-Sia said a copy of the decision she received yesterday, stated that the affidavit of withdrawal filed by Julius Sayson was in conformity with all the requirements of the COMLEC and his name has been deleted and cancelled from the list of mayoralty candidates. moremoremore
