Revenue Region 12 of the Bureau of Internal Revenue, in Bacolod City recorded P6,288,740,194.46 in tax collection for 2012, which is 0.50 percent higher than its collection goal, a BIR collection report showed yesterday.
BIR regional director Perfecto Aranas said the increase of P31,528,194.46 was the result of the intensified tax campaigns, dialogs, seminars, and public awareness campaign on the obligations and responsibilities of tax payers.
The 2012 collection of four revenue district offices include RD 76-Victorias City with P624,215,973; RD 77-Bacolod City with PP3,516,760,024.95; RD 78-Binalbagan with P639,954,192.60; and RD 79-Dumaguete City with P1,507,810,003.91, the report also showed.

About 100 members of the National Federation of Sugarcane Workers rallied in front of the Department of Agrarian Reform Negros Occidental North office for Brgy. Dawis, Bacolod City, to show their support to farmers who held a dialog with DAR officials yesterday.
Greg Ratin, spokesperson of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas, said their members have been taking part in the dialog with DAR for years but their explanation and answers remain the same.
Many members have received their certificates of land ownership awards but none of them have been installed, Ratin said.
