A resolution requesting Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia to allocate a portion of the Handumanan cemetery in Bacolod City for the construction of a septic vault, is being proposed by Councilor Roberto Rojas.
Rojas said the septic vault will be used for the infectious waste of the Bacolod City Health Office and the Lying-In and Birthing Home Center as required under City Ordinance 570, Series of 2011, or the Bacolod Hazardous and Toxic Waste Treatment and Disposal Code.
He said the Bacolod City Health Office performs numerous laboratory examinations that generate hazardous wastes and an increasing number of patients have been utilizing the services of the Bacolod Lying-In and Birthing Home Center since it started in June 2010.
Rojas said infectious wastes of the Bacolod City Health Office and the Birthing Home Center have been disposed at the septic vault in Brgy. Granada, but it is almost full, and there is an urgent need for a place to put up a new one.*CGS back
