Comelec grants withdrawal
of 5 NPC bets, substitution

BY CARLA GOMEZ

The Commission on Elections has approved the withdrawal of certificates of candidacy by five Nationalist People’s Coalition candidates for councilor in Sagay and Cadiz cities in Negros Occidental, and the substitution by three, Provincial Elections Supervisor Jessie Suarez said yesterday.

On Monday, Comelec Bacolod Election Officer Mavil Majarucon-Sia also announced that the COMELEC Law Department had approved the withdrawal by Julius Soriano Sayson of his COC for mayor of Bacolod.

COMELEC Law Department Director IV Esmeralda Amora Ladra wrote Julius Sayson that his COC is considered withdrawn effective Oct. 16, 2012, and consequently, his name will be deleted from the official ballot and the verified list of candidates for the May 13 polls.

That leaves Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson as the lone Sayson candidate for mayor of Bacolod in May.

Suarez said Ladra has also approved the withdrawal by Enecito Azuelo Labrador Jr. and Marites Fernandez Pineda of their COCs as candidates for councilor of Cadiz City under the NPC, and whose names have been deleted from the official ballot.

In Sagay City, the COMELEC also approved the withdrawal of COCs by three NPC candidates for councilor and their substitution.

Gregmar Ofianga Eras was replaced by Reynaldo Dalaorao Alolor, Leo Martin Lamig Ramos was substituted by Maricor Uychiat, and Larry Barredo Lajato by Mckinley Arevalo Sr., Suarez said.*CPG
