advance to grand finals

Kenneth Salazar, Clark Ken Pelione, Aliah Belano will join the other finalists in the grand finals of the “Building Future Champion” Kiddess Chess Tournament this Saturday, after taking the top two spots in the 4 th leg of eliminations held Jan. 26 at NICA Chess Gallery in Centroplex Mall, Bacolod City .

Salazar dominated the final leg of the eliminations by posting a perfect 6 points to take home the P1,500 cash prize, trophy and gold medal, while Pelione settled for first runner-up honors with 5 points (26.5 Bucholz tie break points). Belano also earned 5 points but registered 24.5 Bucholz points (the sum of all their opponents' scores) to land at third place.

They will join early first leg qualifiers Manilyn Cabungcag, Shieldon Coleta and Valerio Mangubat, second leg qualifiers Erl Jireh Martinez Cedrick Severino, Japeth Pimentel, and 3 rd leg qualifiers Johart Tenero,Christian Andrew Lim, and Krizzia Nepumoceno,
